Plans, Quotas & Billing

Plans overview

All plans include: PDF generation, e-signatures, payment collection, sandbox mode, webhooks, and API access.

What counts as a document

Each call to POST /api/documents counts as one document against your monthly quota, regardless of type or number of signers. Sandbox documents ("sandbox": true) do not count.

Quota reset

Quotas reset on the 1st of each calendar month, not on your billing anniversary.

Overage behavior

Once you reach your monthly limit:

• Further POST /api/documents requests return 429 Too Many Requests
• Sandbox documents still work
• Upgrade mid-month to immediately restore access

Upgrading

Upgrade from the Dashboard → Settings → Billing page. Upgrades take effect immediately — you can create documents as soon as the payment is confirmed.

Downgrading

Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. Your quota remains at the current plan level until then.

Cancellation

Cancelling downgrades you to Free at the end of the billing period. Existing documents and their PDFs are not deleted.

Rate limits (separate from quotas)

Quotas are monthly caps. Rate limits are per-hour/per-minute caps. See Rate Limits for details.
