Zapier Integration

The official ZipZign Zapier app connects ZipZign to thousands of other apps without any code. Create a document when a form is submitted, add a row to a spreadsheet when someone signs, or route paid documents into your accounting tool.

Zapier is available on every plan, including Free.

Getting started

Sign in to your ZipZign dashboard
Go to Settings → API Keys and generate a new key (starts with ds_)
Request an invite to the ZipZign Zapier app (contact support or visit zipzign.com/integrations)
In Zapier, connect a new ZipZign account and paste your API key

Triggers

Trigger	Fires when
New Signed Document	Every signer on a document completes signing
New Paid Document	A payable document is paid by the recipient
Document Status Changed	A document transitions status
New Document	Any new document is created in ZipZign

Actions

Action	What it does
Create Document	Creates a readable, signable, or payable document
Update Document Content	Replaces the HTML or PDF content of an existing draft
Send Draft Document	Activates a draft — sends invitation emails
Delete Document	Permanently deletes a document

Searches

Search	Purpose
Find Document by ID	Look up one document by its ID
List Documents	List recent documents, optionally filtered by type and status

Common Zap recipes

Typeform submission → Create signable document in ZipZign
New Signed Document → Append row to Google Sheets
New Paid Document → Create invoice in QuickBooks
New Signed Document → Upload PDF to Google Drive → Notify in Slack

Webhook endpoint limits

Each active Zap consumes one webhook endpoint. Accounts support up to 10 webhook endpoints total. If you hit the cap, delete unused endpoints in Dashboard → Settings → Webhooks.

Troubleshooting

Problem	Fix
"Invalid API key"	Reconnect your ZipZign account with a fresh key
"Maximum of 10 webhook endpoints"	Delete unused endpoints in the dashboard
Duplicate Zap runs	Use the `event.id` field to deduplicate
Trigger not firing	Manually sign or pay a test document to verify
